We have a read-through on 17th December and auditions on the 19th December for our next production, "The Ghost Train". Both will be at 7:30pm in The Hub in Eastfield Close, Duston (see here for directions)
After missing the last connection, a group of strangers find themselves stranded for the night at Fal Vale station. While getting used to their surroundings the stationmaster warns them of a ghostly apparition of a train that comes in the night, and anyone who sees it, dies.
Performing from the 26th to the 29th of March, including a matinee performance on the Saturday, at the Duston Community Centre, ‘The Ghost Train’ has the following characters (in order of appearance);
Ages are a guideline and are flexible. I am also open to gender blind casting for some roles, Teddie Deakin and John Sterling for example.

- Saul Hodgkin, male, 40/50/60s, 82 lines – The superstitious stationmaster
- Richard Winthrop, male, 30/40s, 282 lines – Richard is a person who likes to take charge, a rather bad tempered” looking man
- Elsie Winthrop, female, 30/40s, 86 lines – Richard’s estranged wife, having grown distant from him, eager to have her own independence.
- Charles Murdoch, male, 20/30s, 228 lines – A newlywed, eager to stay with Peggy but is torn away by finances. Charles does share a kiss with Peggy.
- Peggy Murdoch, female, 20/30s, 101 lines – Charles new wife, always sees the good in people and eager to help. Peggy has a kissing scene with Charles.
- Miss Bourne, female, 50+, 70 lines – An elderly woman who likes to keep things proper, but is easily scared. She does spend some of act two and a lot of act three asleep on a table.
- Teddie Deakin, male, 30s, 228 lines – Arguably a buffoon, unaware of the harm he causes with his silly antics.
- Julia Price, female, 20/30s, 140 lines – A troubled young girl, desperate to see the ghost train.
- Herbert Price, male, 30/40s, 50 lines – Julia’s brother, annoyed and frustrated with her antics.
- John Sterling, male, 30/40s, 121 lines – Julia’s doctor, just wanting to do what’s best for her.
- Jackson, male, 50+, 8 lines – A police officer.
