Want to get involved with Duston Players? Here's a great opportunity for anyone interested!
AUDITIONS FOR BOUNCERS AND SHAKERS: 16TH DECEMBER 7:30 AT THE EASTFIELD HUB, DUSTON
Bouncers and Shakers are two separate comedies, written by John Godber and Jane Thornton.
Bouncers paints a picture of a Northern night out in the 80’s/90’s, as told by four brash nightclub bouncers. The four will jump in and out of various colourful characters, with great potential for vocal and physical comedy. Shakers follows the same winning formula, but this time the story is told by 4 cocktail bar waitresses. There are no props or costume changes in either play, just rapid-fire dialogue and a whole lot of imagination.
Performances will be from the 24th - 28th March: Bouncers will be performed on the 24th and 26th, and Shakers will be performed on the 25th and 27th. Both plays will then be performed back to back on the 28th, with an earlier start.
ROLES IN BOUNCERS
LUCKY ERIC: The group elder. Occasionally comes out with some unexpectedly profound speeches, when nobody's around to hear them.
RALPH: Another doorman, always looking for a fight.
LES: The more fair-minded and gentle one. Also always looking for a fight.
JUDD: The younger one, and loose cannon of the group. Loves blue movies and calling people bastards.
ROLES IN SHAKERS
ADELE: A senior waitress who takes her job seriously. The leader of the group.
CAROL: A reserved, educated single mother who feels stuck in her current job.
NICKY: The youngest, newest waitress who hopes to escape her current life.
MEL: Outgoing and flirtatious, yet the most insecure of the group.
